Shandong Tianyin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. adheres to independent innovation, with annual research investment accounting for more than 6% of sales revenue. The company possesses first-class testing equipment such as high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, atomic absorption, atomic fluorescence, and UV-visible spectrophotometer. Currently, the company has 5 deep processing production lines for subcritical extraction, carotenoid microencapsulation, and powder formulation, with a production capacity of 10,000 tons/year for feed-grade lutein.
The company has applied for more than ten invention patents, among which the "method for making lutein microcapsules" has greatly improved the water solubility and stability of the product. Through the application of patents such as "method for preparing water-soluble lutein esters" and "method for preparing paprika oleoresin powder from red chili peppers", the product quality has been enhanced.
Based on traditional products, Tianyin has developed over 30 new products, including high-content lutein, lutein esters, zeaxanthin, astaxanthin, and microencapsulation series, through technological innovation. The research and development of high-content food-grade lutein and zeaxanthin have been included in the National Spark Program. The two-step extraction of paprika oleoresin, the conversion of lutein to zeaxanthin, and functional lutein have been designated as provincial and ministerial-level Spark Program projects.
The company has always adhered to the development driven by research and innovation, relying on four provincial-level research and development platforms - Shandong Natural Plant Pigment Engineering Technology Research Center, Shandong Provincial Enterprise Technology Center, Shandong Provincial Academician Workstation, and Shandong Provincial "One Enterprise, One Technology" Research and Development Center, to build an efficient scientific research system integrating basic research and application development. At the same time, the company has advanced technical support systems such as the national-level natural plant purification technology platform and lutein molecular modification technology platform, laying a solid foundation for continuously enhancing the technological content and industrial value of products.
In recent years, the company has actively undertaken national and provincial key scientific research projects, accumulatively completing 3 national-level Spark Program projects including "Food-grade Lutein Powder" and "Extraction of High-purity Natural Plant Capsaicin", 1 Shandong Provincial Key Research and Development Plan, 4 Shandong Provincial Technological Innovation Projects, and 6 Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Development Plans, demonstrating strong capabilities in scientific research and achievement transformation. Currently, the company has been granted over 20 authorized invention patents, and has participated in the formulation of two national standards for "Food Additives - Lutein" and "Food Additives - Capsicum Oleoresin", as well as an industry standard for "Lutein Esters and Their Products", actively promoting industry technical standards and quality improvement.
